Persons using wheelchairs are invited to experience a ride on The Duquesne
Incline, with the trip starting and ending at the Upper Station, 1220
Grandview Avenue in the Duquesne Heights section of Mount Washington. From
the Upper Station, wheelchair patrons can access an historic Incline
car, the Upper Station
Waiting Room with small museum, Lower Station Waiting Room including a few
displays, and the Upper Station Observation Deck overlooking the beautiful
Golden Triangle of Downtown Pittsburgh.
To ensure prompt service, please telephone The Duquesne Incline at
prior to your arrival.
Accessibility for the Disabled
Due to the age of the facility, there is currently no wheelchair access
between the boarding platforms of the Lower Station and the nearby parking
lot or the bus stops on West Carson
Street. These boarding platforms are actually on
the second floor of the Lower Station's building. The ability to climb and
is necessary to reach the West Carson Street bus stops and the parking
lot near the Ohio River, from the Lower Incline Station.
